Trevor Hemmings

Sad to hear of the death of Trevor Hemmings.  The owner of Preston, although wealthier than Smith & Jones, his ownership approach was in a similar vein of not throwing cash about willy nilly.

More importantly from my perspective, I've won quite a lot of money from following his horses (he was a major national hunt horse owner).  The reason for choosing his horses in the first place however was close to NCFC.  His silks were yellow and green quarters, with white sleeves!  A three time Grand National winning owner, it was a pleasure to see those colours romp past the winning line (Norwich even won that weekend as well once, doubling the winnings).

A very humble man, given the colours he chose, you do wonder what kind of owner he might have been at Norwich?  Given the recent developments in the EPL, I think this is a sad loss for the EFL.  You do hope he has mapped out his legacy; it will be interesting what happens now at PNE.

He owned Ballabriggs, the horse responsible for my biggest ever win on the horses he won the Grand National in 2011. Only £300, I'm not much of a gambler, but it's enough to make me like him. RIP.

Yes another great sportsman. Hope whoever inherits keeps the yellow and green quarters. Probably cost me a lot of money but there you go.
