Making pathetic jibes at those who have the courage to risk imprisonment to fight for a noble cause

Vomit inducing!

But they’re not making any changes, they’re actually cause more issues! Pollution and cost. If they really want to do something, then get out and do something more positive, lots of people are by cleaning up beaches, ponds and areas!

My contractual companies are mainly oil and gas based, in the past 20 years this industry has developed and help Green solutions including carbon capture, carbon re injection and Green powered solutions.

Oil and gas is needed in in the near future and this inflation crises just shows how reliant we all are on fossil fuels.

I’m glad in away that price of fuels are high it’s might just drive more companies and households to go greener by necessity rather than choice.

Solar power, with good solid state batteries and heat pumps are the way we should all be headed.

We spend billions of pounds in research into carbon capture solutions now being built by our company with partnership with a number of big major companies and lots of countries.

We all have a duty to act and shouldn’t just walk round blaming governments or society, until you take ownership then nothing will be achieved, only a step change in the way we live can drive change.

China's military expenditure is more directed to its influence sphere, ie. Taiwan and the South China sea, compared to the 200 plus US bases around the world. Global economic or military hegemony is not the invention/intention of China, imho. Their claim on Taiwan is an internal struggle which is incomparable with other issues. It is not in Taiwans interest to loose everything they build their reputation on, however much they are westernized.

Taiwan, which is functionally independent from China as per the wishes of its people, would disagree with your view of it as an internal struggle.

How about instead of uniting, actually doing, by doing the little things you can, not leaving lights on, water management, ensure your home is as efficient as it can be, put a jumper on when feeling chilly instead of bunging the heating on, then if you can get a smart meter fitted, if you are changing your car actually think of the best mileage and emissions if you don’t want to go to an electric car for whatever reason, not just by put that big engined SUV when it’s just for the school run!

There’s so much everyone can actually do and by millions of small steps the massive journey to save the planet as much as we can starts.

Governments love this sort of rhetoric. Drive a little less (we're not doing anything about helping you get an alternative fuel car); Fly a little less (even though you still need to get to that meeting in Ontario); use a little less water (that way we might dump a little less excess raw sewage into the sea).

My sister's friend has gone down this rabbit hole and it's a mental health nightmare. Literally her entire life is dictated by analysing the environmental consequences. A shelf won't go up if it uses plastic rawl plugs. She lives. in a village but goes to the shops less and less because of the fuel consumption etc.

All these little things are shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. Nothing short of a complete transformation of how the global economy is powered will help and the pretense that little people doing little things can help avert catastrophe just lets governments off the hook.

And this is why nothing will change with this attitude! Without you doing things yourself then forget it and just point your finger at everyone in global power yet you are part of the massive problem. Unless you stop using power you don’t need to, water you don’t need to and carbon you don’t need to then nothing will change, I’m happy to say I’ve gone down that route and it’s had no impact on my lifestyle other than cheaper bills!
