It’s probably more the case that they can afford to push things back that bit further because it’s a summer sport. The 2020 Blast was due to start 28 May, The Hundred in July, the Royal London Cup also July. It’s the county championship that may lose out as that was due to start in April. It’s much harder to rearrange/fit in 4 day games than twenty twenty. They could though try and push it back - even if they have to go into October. You get split points if the game is drawn because of bad weather and five points a piece if you don’t even start the game. The county championship season is already “unfair” because if one club gets loads of games drawn because of bad weather and another doesn’t, then the second side will have more opportunity to get higher points. Aggy 944 Posted March 21, 2020 P.s I would guess the reason for the arbitrary June date is that they will then just start immediately with the T20 without worrying too much about infrastructure etc if there is any uncertainty about a start date.
