Crazy Eddie 0 Posted January 23, 2006 "Charlton manager Alan Curbishley could renew his interest in Englandgoalkeeper Robert Green this week should, as expected, Dean Kiely leaveThe Valley."This according to teamtalk. The reported fee would be in the region of£2m. We should be so lucky, I''d say £1.5 more realistic. I don''t have aproblem with this, even if it were to happen last day of the transferwindow, in fact I think I''d prefer it this way. Would recoup some ofthe money we will spend between now and then and should ensure a littleleft for summer spending.HOWEVER, there is always the possibility with Charlton they will tryand save money by offloading Lisbie to us. Please, please, please NO!
Cantiaci Canary 557 Posted January 23, 2006 I wouldn''t rule out Everton''s interest with a shakey Richard Fright and aged Nige Martyn

The Priest 0 Posted January 23, 2006 With Dean Ashton on his way, short-tossing Robert Green could be the next out of the door.Norwich face losing a second key player in quick succession after rumours resurfaced of Alan Curbishley''s interest in Robert Green. The England reserve goalkeeper has previously been linked with Portsmouth and Charlton, but with veteran Dean Kiely on his way out, the Addicks may now be ready to move.Green is widely believed to want a return to the Premiership in order to cement his spot in Sven Goran Eriksson''s World Cup Squad, and time is running out. He did little to dispel murmurs about his leaving when he hurled his shirt onto the crowd after City suffered a last gasp defeat to Watford on Saturday, although he did put his actions down to frustration. The price on Green''s head is believed to be a modest 2million, although a swap deal involving cash and a player, possibly Kevin Lisbie or Francis Jeffers, could be on the cards. Nigel Worthington tried to get Jeffers on loan in the summer and had Lisbie at carrow Road a couple of months agoLisbie noJeffers yes

The Priest 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Charlton manager Alan Curbishley could renew his interest in England goalkeeper Robert Green this week should, as expected, Dean Kiely leave The Valley. However, with Canaries manager Nigel Worthington now eager to do some quick recruiting before the transfer window closes, it is likely a cash-plus-player deal would be acceptable, with striker Kevin Lisbie, who spent a loan spell at Carrow Road earlier in the season, understood to be part of a potential package on offer.http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Story_Page/0,7760,1781_970997,00.html

Fat Barman 0 Posted January 23, 2006 nice mis-type james "short-tossing Green!" LOLThe rumour-mongers assume Lisbie, or Jeffers would be likely swaps, simply because we''ve lost Ashton. If you combine all the stories, that''s Gray, Halford, McSheffrey, Jerome, Lisbie & Jeffers touted as replacements (sorry, forgot the Luton beanpole!). Makes more sense to spend big on Jerome & Halford/McSheffrey and then either demand cash only for Green, or see if they''ve a defender, or midfielder to interest us. How about Rommedahl? Doesn''t seem to get used very often.
Fat Barman 0 Posted January 23, 2006 Perleeeze AJ, at least wait for the bad signings to be made before slagging off Worthy! If Lisbie comes here, will you give him time to settle, or will the boos start the first time his name is announced to the fans (remember, that''s if he''s actually on his way - along with the other half-dozen or so we''re apparently bring to the club, according to websites & newspapers!)
