how worthy could blow city's play-off hopes.

Recommended Posts

3 ways:-
  1. failure to hold onto greeno & deano.    even if silly money offered

which we couldn''t refuse, greeno forms part of a solid defence these days

& deano has a good understanding with hucks and wly that somebody

new would have a job replicating bewtween now and the end of the

season. together they are a potent strikeforce, maybe top 3 in division.
    2.   failure to sign and right winger.   we''ve no one good enough to craft a

goal scoring opportunity for deano & wly on the right

side           as  hucks does on the left.  we need a winger who knows what

they''re doing in the final third - simple as that.  the

ability to pass                   sideways, backwards or hoof a aimless ball into the box

isn''t good enough worthy.    3.   playing hughes, charlie, dicko & jj out of position.  This isn''t

always because of injuries. hughes, JJ & dicko are not right                    wingers, just as charlie isn''t a left winger.  hughes and

charlie can do a job centre midfield, but hand on heart they don''t make us look           like a  top 6 team, especially when going forward

- they both lack final third creativity, which should be expected given their                       defensive backgrounds.  However, I believe in a

defensive 4-3-3 away from home, charlie on the left side gives 9/10 performaces               and i''ve a hunch hughes could probably do the same on the right side, alond with safs in the middle, i don''t think even reading could           find a way past us.  Likewise, dicko and jj are up and down players, and they play best centre midfield in a 4-2-2.  Whats the                   betting on saturday that hughes will play right wing and charlie will be centre midfield at expense of dicko or JJ in a 4-2-2? IMO this           won''t be good enough.

we need to play like a top 3 team between now and end of the season to get into the playoffs - make no mistake.

lucky green , you state failure to hold on to deano etc .. do you think all this paper talk has unsettled the fella ? i think your main prob is with your manager , he reminds me in some ways of our great glen roeder , just think what you could do with say 10 mill if you sell them two  , you could buy at least 5 decent players to get you out on the fizzy pop with that , good luck to you

Too true, me and Gazza we''re looking at this after last nights reserve game and FONCY AGM (report to follow later)

I reckon we need 74 points for the players, which is just a fraction over 2 points a game until the end of the season.

We have yet to play Reading, Palace, Leeds, Burnley and Preston away. Can''t see us beating any of them, so will have to rely on home form and we have yet to play Watford, scum (form goes out of the window in a derby game), Sheff Utd and Wolves here. Will we get 3 points from all of those games? We are 5 points behind Preston (who have a game in hand at Plymouth!) and a minus goal difference, so that is effectively 9 points behind 6th place. Will we be able to make that up? No I don''t think so.

Gee, I hope we don''t play 4-2-2! We give the opposition enough of an advantage as it is!
