Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted December 2, 2017 Looking at the bottom half of the championship table tonight it occurred to me that of the bottom 11 clubs I think 7 have been relegated from the PL in the last 10 years plus Barnsley who had a cameo there 20 years ago. That made me think how getting to the pl and desperate attempts to stay or get back there can really mess up a club for a long long time. In addition there are sides in the top half and the bottom two divisions. Swindon Portsmouth Blackpool Coventry and Oldham have tasted the curse of the pl . Given the massive sums of money in the pl in terms of wages and fees one wonders is it worth the bother fine if you get it right terrible if you get it wrong

Miss Demeanor 67 Posted December 2, 2017 Watford went through a similar scenario and were bailed out at the last minute by a Tory supporter and look at them now!
Capt. Pants 4,234 Posted December 2, 2017 It feels like a poison chalice if you get it wrong that''s for sure. Who knows where Huddersfield might land, hint of a bit of a slide, relegation, Wagner off to the Bundesliga, suddenly back with the Championship also rans.
