Cobain18 0 Posted September 14, 2016 .... And lost, their naivety may cost them a place in this division despite their style of football. We''ve not got into our rythym yet and are 4th. Stats don''t lie - can we please get behind the team and stop being so naive. I think our performance will improve over time once we start getting previously injured players fit but results are what will get us promoted, not pretty football every game! Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted September 14, 2016 Who''s not getting behind the team? (Excluding the usual suspects)Think fans have reasonably aired their concerns regarding the team''s recent performance levels - fair to say we have not been playing at the standard we know we are capable of. You praising the performance of Wigan kind of underlines how we are underperforming at the moment, if we had played well then it simply wouldn''t have mattered how well they did - such is the difference in class between us and them!As you say, hopefully these results and the returning players and Oliveira can help us push on to more convincing displays! Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted September 14, 2016 Wigan were shocking at the back but had a better balanced midfield which enabled them to get a grip of midfield a lot of the time
AJ 1,359 Posted September 14, 2016 the changes they made in the second half duped us. They had a shocking first 15 minutes, but after that they were fairly solid. The fact they sat so high up the pitch in the second half was clearly intentional, and it stumped us. Having lost Tettey to hold the anchor, and losing our outlet down the right in Pinto, we lost our way. But you''re right, the frustration was caused by Wigan doing a job on us. Had they not been so woeful in front of goal, they could probably have come away with a point. That said, when we wanted to we carved them open time after time and just failed to make the most of it. Should have been about 3 or 4 to the good before they scored. It was a very odd game, that''s for sure.
havemyhowsonit 0 Posted September 14, 2016 No they didn''t. Are subs and change of play. Played into their advantage pushed really high up the field because we had no pace on the counter attack. Bringing mulumbu on for hoolahan was very premature imo played right into their hands and very nearly paid off for them. Luckily they were poor in the final third
