Could this be our Vardy?

Recommended Posts

Apparently we have young striker Ashley Nadesan from Horley on trial next week. 92 goals in two seasons is going some at whatever level....."In the past year he has had six offers from clubs in higher

divisions, including several seven-day approaches, but turned them down

because the Horley board pleaded with him to stay for a promotion push -

they now sit sixth in the table. His agent Darren Lewis said:

“There is a whole queue of clubs looking at him - he is at Norwich next

week; there is interest from Cambridge plus an open invitation from

Crawley; and Brighton are watching him closely.“The Conference

could be right for his development at the moment. But I’m open-minded.

Whoever is prepared to invest in him would be in pole position to get

him."
Linky thing.

No doubt the guy sounds like he has talent, but jumping to the Prem isn''t easy. Vardy is a very unusual type of player - very quick but also very strong but also with a lot of experience in the game. He is 29.

I think bringing a youngster through is much harder.

The lad may not be taken on, but it''s good to see the club exploring these avenues in the hope of uncovering a gem. They are out there, Tyrone Mings is a good example.

I was thinking the other day about the number of "next big things" and the unseemly hype after a few games...
Kevin Gallen, supposedly the "new Robbie Fowler"
Danny Cadamarteri, the "new Michael Owen"
Matt Derbyshire was touted as future England goalscoring material
More locally, we had Rossi Jarvis, who was going to be our Fabregas, and that lot down the road suggested Aaron Cresswell was going to give Gareth Bale a run for his money etc etc etc.
So yeah, good that we''re trialling this lad but let''s just wait and see.  One in ten seems to be the "comes good" ratio.
