Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 40

Recommended Posts
This is Gingerpele can''t log into my proper account

on anything other than my computer for some reason... Proper gutted about the

Hull result, they let down my own main bet yesterday as well. I won''t say sorry

as I know you don''t like that Eddie, but yeah I so want to be on that list of

winners, I know how much you appreciate my contribution to this thread and I do

hope to come meet you properly next week if you''re at the Nelson, proper gutting

to not add to the pot this week. And at HT agains Ipswich I thought we might be

on for couple of match bets as we''ll wasn''t to be this week unfortunately

:(
I''m gutted too Sonny because it was my suggestion. But you''re right, we are

all giving it our best shot and nobody needs to say sorry for doing their

best.

Both games went our way today so we finished with 5/6 meaning the bet

insurance kicked in so we have a free bet for next week. Except there is no

final six next week!!! So I have an idea to use that tenner. Now I can''t put up

the league tables yet because there are two Monday games. But the top of the

leagues will not change. The main league will be : -

1. Tilly 93%

2. Chelle 90%

3. Purple 90%

The profitability league will be :-

1. Lapps +8.30 or + 6.97

2. Wolfie +6.88

3. Mandie +6.68

So what I am proposing is that these six PUPs each make a selection next

weekend and we use the free bet to fund that bet. We can do this via email and I

post the six selections anonymously or we can select on a thread as usual. What

do you PUPs think as it''s only a suggestion?

I was going to use the platform of tonight''s TV BAFTAs for my acceptance speech but in view of Ginger turning up in The Nelson next Saturday I will save it for then. [;)]
Nutty, if we are having an NCFC thread then this group of six reprobates will presumably be posting their selections for that there, so they may as well add their individual choices for this excellent idea of an extra accumulator.

Sincere apologies for my absence this weekend – been out the country and unable to log in on my phone. If it''s not too late, Eddie, may I back Feyenoord to beat Vitesse this evening? I would be delighted to pick a match for next weekend, great idea!

Yes of course it''s ok Wolfie. I''d remembered you were away. But it''s very brave of you. If Feyenoord win you keep your place in the top three profitability. If they don''t win Yellowfuture will take your place. Good onya buddy but oh the drama.......

Three games today and not one winner for our PUPs. I''m gutted for Wolfie but making a selection was in keeping with the great spirit he''s played the game this season.

In the end 40 PUPs picked this weekend 25 won (63%). this figure is boosted because 10 were on our "banker" in Manchester City. In total there were 22 different suggestions of which 10 won (45%). Gingerpele didn''t have much chance with those stats and his 5/6 was a real achievement.

So it is congratulations to Tilly who won our league for the second time in three seasons. Also well done to Chelle and Purple who finished on 90% to be second and third. Wolfie and Yellowfuture, in their first full season, were right up there til the death too. With CD who may be a big threat next year if he lasts the course. Mr Angry has taken over Purple''s globe trotting title and had a great season picking from 40 (I think) different countries. And of course Wooster and his draw picks were legendary. But you all win the accolade of raising a record amount for the CSF. With money still coming in the total this season is £1163! And it will rise some more. Anyway, thank you all for making this so easy for me to administrate. What a fantastic team you are!!

Here''s that final league table showing those with at least 50% correct from at least half the available weeks. Those above the line will be selecting this final six next season : -

Now thanks to the help I received from Parma we''ve also had a profitabilty column this season. This has been a great success. The point of the league is to focus minds and help the PUP in the hotseat with their selections. And we know that the profitability column has done that. So it''s congratulations to Lappinitup who topped the profitability practically all season. Lapp turned his original £1 into £6.97. I bet Tilly wishes his bank paid that sort of inerest!![;)] Mandie, Yellowfuture and Splutcho also showed great profits. And Wolfie was there until Feyenoord!! But incredibly 31 PUPs who''d picked in at least half the weeks finished in credit! Here''s that alternative table : -

PUP Wins Picks Win% Profitability

So we will have Tilly, Chelle, Purple, Lapp, Mandie and Yellowfuture selecting the six games for our free bet next weekend. And of course we have Ray making his debut picking the match bet from the ipswich game so don''t forget to come back with some suggestions for that!

Haha! Hadn''t realised that it would jeopardise my place in the final six, otherwise I''d have kept quiet! I picked Feyenoord pretty much at random as I''d been out the country all weekend... still, not a bad effort for my first season. And a brilliant season all round by everyone – congratulations to Tilly and Lapps on their table-topping skills, and massive good luck to the ''super six'' this weekend.
