  1. I am about to book my advance train ticket from London to Swindon for this match £ 15 - much cheaper than paying on the day at £40- but it occurs that the date/time may be changed for TV purposes as it is shaping up to be quite an important fixture. Can any of you lads/lasses  from Capital Canaries let me know if this is likely or have the TV company''s schedule already been decided? Thanks.
  2. Congratulations on your maths degree, earned apparantly at the expense of English grammar. Your final sentence should read- Obviously he didn''t do a degree in maths AS I DID. Your error was spotted by my wife- the proud recepient of 3 O levels including Cookery.
  3. The original poster on this thread tried to compare the value of Blackburn Rovers with that of Norwich City. He was rightly ''pulled up'' as not comparing ''like with like''. Perhaps I could make a contribution here- I have been a serial lurker on this board for several years but have rarely felt qualified to contribute anything worthwhile. However, having spent 30 years in banking- most of it involved in corporate financing, you will probably realise this present saga is of considerable interest to me. On this particular topic- the valuation of the club- I would point out to BaldyBoy one aspect of considerable importance when comparing the value of any two football clubs is the value of the stadium or, more particularly, the worth of the land on which it sits. No one would deny that NCFC have a prime city-centre site which must have risen strongly in value over the last 10 years during Delia''s time with us. Compare this with Blackburn Rovers which, and I''ll try not to be too unkind here, is not in the best part of town. Furthermore I would wager that the boom in house/land prices in Norwich has been greater generally than East Lancashire. Helped in particular by the Riverside development which will undoubtedly have increased the desirability of the whole Carrow Road area. It is this valuation which will, in large part, determine the share price to be £30. If there are any surveyors/estate agents out there they may like to comment. They will know the value of prime development land per acre. The acreage of the Carrow Road site is probably known by someone so the real-estate value of the land can be worked out. This will not be the same as the Balance Sheet figure in the accounts which was £36million which will almost certainly be an understatement. Whilst typing this a thought occurs. On another thread BigFish asks what kind of fan Peter Cullum is anyway? He goes on to criticize the timing and the amount of the offer- I agree- it stinks. So, given that he is trying to buy our most valuable asset- the Carrow Road stadium- at a knock-down price, what might his plans then be? Move the club out of the city and sell Carrow Road? Delia, for all her faults has consistently said this would not happen during her reign. I applaud her for that. The future- who knows- but the more I read/hear about Mr Cullum, the more I worry. PS sorry by the end I had got a little off the original topic but I hope you found it a useful contribution anyway.
  4. I always park at Epping- the advantage over Redbridge, which I used to use, is that you don''t have to cross the M25 interchange- delays possibly?? It is easy to find as you drive into the town and free parking about 200 metres from the station.
  5. It will be impossible to play OTBC if your mobile has only 6 notes(A to F) as a full octave is needed(8 notes). This is it in the Key of C which is the only one which does not need "sharps"or "flats" although it sounds as if the crowd actually sing it in D(impress your friends with this gem of knowledge!) On the Ball Ci-ty G G G E G Nev-er mind the day-en-ger F E D C B A G Ste-dy on, nows your chance A B C D E F Hu-rrah we''ve scored a goal A G E D C C The G on ger in the second line is 1 octave lower the the other G''s. Hope this helps.
  6. At Cardiff recently the tune of Men of Harlech was used for a chant of Iwan Roberts. I had not heard this used before and, as a proud Welshman, I imagine Iwan was delighted. Apologies to Splendid Rush if this was the tune which you were suggesting in your post.
  7. This is my first post and may I say first of all how much I have enjoyed reading all your views over the last few months. This is the first time I have felt able to make a worthwhile contribution so I hope this helps you at Coventry. I keep a notebook of routes/parking for many grounds and although I last went there in 1985 to watch the infamous Coventry v Everton match which saw Norwich relegated as a direct result, hopefully the following will not be too out of date. My notebook says: enter Coventry on A45 at first roundabout take B4110 second roundabout-continue on B4110 over 2 sets of traffic lights turn right at Bolingbroke Road and park there from memory this is about half a mile from ground. To walk from Bolingbroke Road the notebook says Cross the green Cross road Go through the park Turn right at traffic lights Hope this helps
