  1. From what I saw, Jaidi at Southampton. He had Holt in his back pocket all afternoon at carrow road.  But I didn''t see him for the other 45 games to be fair.  He''s old too, but was good performance.
  2. I''m with Hackney Canary on this.  Our midfield sounded a little bereft of ideas to say least on Tuesday.  Lambert is brilliant, but i hope he doesn''t sacrifice the thing that got Norwich where they are this season and which he himself confirmed is of paramount importance - balance and putting round pegs in round holes.  Oli Johnson is not the man who can play for 90 minutes in the hole.  He adds real value to the squad as we''ve seen but not from there for an entire match.  I honestly think (as others have stated) the only person at the club who can play that role is Mcveigh if Wes is injured, although Hughes may just be able to do it..  If not, I think we need to consider 4.4.2 or 4.5.1 controversially and hope macnamee is on it. Russell Martin is a bit suspect and nelson has his limitations but I wouldn''t start tinkering with the back 4.  It''s done its job this season.  Still, we''ll do it.  No sweat
  3. I hope Hoolahan''s fit, but if we''re playing the diamond, it needs someone with a footballing brain and technical ability to play that role behind the strikers.  Lots of people thought Hoolahan didn''t play well against Tranmere.  For me, in terms of his technique, ability to find space and instinctive one touch passing, he really stood out from everyone else on the pitch by some distance.  Mcveigh is the only one in my opinion who can touch him in these respects at Norwich, although Stephen Hughes certainly has something.  It won''t happen though.. Just hope whatever we do, we win.  Sure we will.
  4. I realise Huckerby didn''t play in diamond, but the point is with a left winger and three attackers, we''d be open for the better teams to defend. Take your point about the higher level.  But we''re not in the championship now.  Deal with today first
  5. I thin Mcnamee is plan b if hoolahan gets injured.  Then there''d be no point playing a diamond as there probably isn''t anyone clever enough to play that position behind the strikers_ maybe hughes?  So then revert to winger(s)
  6. But it would completely destroy the team structure.  So what''s the plan?  We play 90 minutes with half a diamond with an out and out winger?   Brilliant though Huckerby was, the problem that resulted as a result of his inclusion in the team was that obviously the left back was exposed, but more importantly our midfield was porous and stretched to the limit and the opposition just played through it.   It''s all about balance, and with lappin Norwich have it.     And McNamee looks good - but he''s no huckerby.     Lambert clearly knows what he''s doing and then some.
  7. I went to the same three games.  At Hartlepool and Carlisle the atmos was good but at Leeds it was excellent, despite the ridiculous stewarding (and the result!)
  8. yeah i saw a discarded umbrella as we were filing out of the row behind.  Remember thinking it was weird seeing an umbrella there at all.  Think someone took it. Can''t believe I''m wasting my first post ever with this!!     Fans were good.  Match was weird. Norwich had more quality, although was a bit strange to hear the expert pundit on carlisle''s phone in describe doherty and drury as "premiership" defenders.  They did play well though
