all a bit weird, we are in desperate need of strikers and then go loan our most promising Academy player out to Soton!!! Weird. Would far rather have seen him at City getting his head on a few balls from Hoolahan but there you go. Perhaps Glenn really has got an ace up his sleeve?

Ive mentioned this fella a few times before on these boards... With our current shocking lack of forwards after losing Keane, Defoe and now surely Berbatov (and yet keeping DarrenFookingBent) in just over 6 months im not sure the club will allow him to go out on loan, as we only have DarrenFookingBent available up front. ive seen him play quite a bit for the ressies and he''s impressed me, holds the ball up well and is a threat in the air. Would be happy for him to get a season at City under his belt... can we sign two more forwards in a week tho?

leaves you a bit short of cover but if (IF!) Stef and Shack stay fit then shouldnt be too bad. Leve the Ginger Pele for emergencies only....! :-)

V handy, not quite the legend that Dave The Striker was though :-) Has played and scored loads of goals in the ressies and got a great record at U19 / U20 level for Czech Rep. And hes a big fella

I totally agree with you, pretty much everything I said in my post is reflected in yours.  

Id bought a ticket in the away end.... but then the missus (A City fan) won a competition with NU for free tickets and dinner at Delia''s etc so was in the Jarrold with her and sold my ticket to another Spurs fan. Couldnt get rid of her ticket in the Barclay Lower though! Atmosphere were I was was decent, absolutely no nastiness at all, would have prefered to keep my away ticket but there you go! I enjoy watching football, I applaud good football when I see it, whoever it is (although its hard to ever applaud Ars*nal) and thats exactly what I did last night, Hoolahan looks a handful who will do a job for you next year certainly. Away fans should have a certain amount of respect for their hosts and as long as they abide by that then I see no problem. I know a LOT of Barclay ST holders who didnt bother, its up to them whether they go or not... but I think its pretty unfair to knock the Spurs fans who decide to come in their place rather than the ST holders. If you werent going to sell the tickets to City fans I think its better that you earn the money from selling to away fans, get that money in the clubs coffers. Dont forget it was live on Sultana Sports as well, great achievement to sell out a friendly when its on telly in the pub! A similar situation happened to me last year when i joined the missus in the Barclay to watch City v Bury in the cup - some guy sat behind me decided to post on WOTB about how I was texting a mate about the Spurs score instead of watching every second of the game. Err - at least I was there putting cash in, again unlike quite a few ST''s I know who were probably down the pub or something! All in all its not the end of the world - you spent most of the game without two centrebacks and only one centreforward - give GR a bit of time and he''ll get something sorted. Like a few other posters have mentioned, there wont be another Spurs, or Villa, or Everton, or anything like that unless its a cup game (and then anything could happen!!!!) Cheers!

well, im a member at Spurs and sit in the South Stand near the away fans and its always noisy there... got to admit the Paxton (opposite) and the main stand are both very very quiet though. And in answer to the original poster - I agree, the premiership ISNT that great. We all know whos coming first or second. And third or fourth. And generally who''s going down. And it aint gonna change unless more Russian billionarires appear and buy clubs as their personal playthings a''la Chelsea... and personally id rather not see that, would be the death of football if all our clubs end up owned by foreign businessmen and conglomerates. While on the subject of annoying premiership traits I aint too happy about all these reserve teams getting put out in the FA Cup.... but thats also another thread / story.....

As a long suffering Spurs fan I can tell you from first hand experience that Darren Bent isnt worth £18, never mind £18 million. I saw him first in our defeat at Newcastle (It is cold in the away seats a million miles in the air innit) and he shows no real qualities to me other than a bit of pace. Ashton - different class of player. If Wet Spam wish to do a swap with "Benty" they are more than welcome - players like him are rare these days (the "Sheringham" style of footballer).

I may not be a City fan (The missus is so we are in the Barclay today) but to put jarroldstander''s comment into context its "only" £20 to watch Spurs v Reading at the Lane today. £2 difference - that to me isnt much to watch two premiership sides?
