  1. Theres a man who works in the car park accross the road, quite old with a shaggy white beard, we call him ''whitey'', weve always thought itd be good luck to cut off a lock of his beard as the whole of the first season we saw him we ddnt see a loss at home.
  2. Itd be nice for everyone to enjoy a good performance for the first time in weeks without all the negative spin, we were fantastic going forward today, more shots than probably the last month put together, Curetons goal might just set him off on a little run, Roeder really seems up for the job and his two appointments in my opinion will both prove succesfull. The defence did still look leaky, but at least the way we passed the ball we will score goals. Id much rather se entertaining games rather than dull 1-0 losses. Bring on Watford. OTBC
  3. I thought Hartson did ok, one thing I did notice though from the upper barclay is that a couple of times wingers were in good positions, and he was mearly jogging into the box when he should have been really attacking the ball, is this due to fitness or desire? I cant tell, but if he was fit hed be a definate asset to the squad.
  4. I second that, my MOTM, although I thought rusty and brellier were also fantastic. Still looks a bit on the skinny side but the positions he picked the ball up in and run with it were impossible to mark.
  5. I too went to the game, and I must say i disagree with a lot of whats said above... Charlton put on probably their best performance of the season, and a year or two ago the game would have been dead and buried by half time, the team showed great resilience, yes we lacked a goal threat much of the time, but there were more saving headers and blocks tonight than in the whole of last season! Theres no need to overreact just yet, add a bit of quality ie smith, fozzy or a loan, then with a better cutting edge we will be a lot better equiped. That said we cant afford basic lapses in concentration, letting a ball from that deep bounce into the box for the first pen is criminal, and even then the tackle wasnt really needed with the ball speeding towards the touchline. One point though, Brown was dead on his feet after 70 mins, why not make subs earlier when they could have made an impact? We could have brought on Curo and Dave and had fresh legs to try and win the game, which would have also driven Charlton back a bit and relieved some pressure. Also Chadders looked lightweight, get him in the gym! Any thoughts?
  6. Id like to think so...however the last time I went to Charlton Greeno went off injured, we lost 4-0 and i got food poisoning from a dodgy chicken stand outside the ground! An improvement please....
  7. I havent seen the highlights so I cant comment on what it looks like on them, but I was in the lower barclay just behind the goal... Marshall was screaming ''near post, near post'' for a good ten seconds and the defenders were looking at him and taking no responsibilty, he then grabbed Otsembor and pushed him towards the post, he stil didnt go onto the line though and it just looped over him. I think its unfair to blame Marshall for the second.
  8. Theres probably a post on this earlier on but I couldnt see it.. Just wondering out of the 6 choices which one people had voted for? I personally went for Kasabians Club Foot, it was between that and Chelsea dagger but I reckon its the most powerful one, and the others are used in so many adverts etc itd be nice to have something different.
