1. In relation to Helveg possibly buying out his contract & Peter''s calculations as to what his weekly salary is, the following web site gives an indication about how prudently our club is run http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4071136.stm From my crude maths the average Premiership salary is £26k a week (based on 30 man squads per club), Championship, as I''m forced to call it, works out at £3.5k. I can''t help but think there are a lot of clubs still who are riding for a fall. IMO West Ham would have been in serious trouble had they not gone up thru the playoffs & will they learn any lessons from previous years? Although I know I will incur the wrath of the Wizard, but I would like to praise our board for actually operating our club in a sound financial way, Mr Chase is hopefully a dim & distant memory. By the way my surname is not Doncaster!
2. Couldn''t agree more Stephen, that''s why I started the thread. Welcome to Grumpy Old Men society!
3. There are always high expectations of Wolves, they are viewed in the media as a ''Big club'', they have a history, all be it dating back to Billy Wright''s (ex England captain) days, but they do tend to under perform. If they draw as many games as last year, they will struggle to make the playoffs & that is as high as they will get, imo. Impressed with your confidence about NCFC, when we have only half a squad at present! But as others say, keep the faith
4. I can''t believe I''m posting this, but Jim Magilton would do a job for a season.
5. Just been on the Sky sports web site, Premiership transfer dealings so far:-   In- 4 Out- 47 I''ve been as guilty as anyone in thinking NW needs to get active in the marketplace, but doesn''t the above put things in perspective.
6. Thanks for clearing it up Nolegs, I hadn''t even thought of that one!
7. I thought I was asking for too much, to get any sort of agreement, the only thing we seem to share is our support of the Canaries, but then different viewpoints is what makes these boards interesting!
8. Help, as an old fogy, I''m getting confused with what division we are supposed to be in, it was bad enough last season, with the old, old Division 1. Can I plead with fellow posters for a bit of continuity on this when posting. Maybe a vote as to how we will refer to what level we are actually playing in?
9. I seem to have read somewhere on these boards that the transfer window applies to Championship teams now. Is this true? If so NW will have to pull his finger out soon or we will be landed with half a dozen panic buys like Gary Docherty last season. Incidently he won everything in the air for the Republic last night.
10. I must admit to being surprised at all the ''info'' about this transfer coming from NW, allegedly. If he has been quoted accurately, then I think it could come back to haunt him. Other clubs will be wary of having contact with NCFC for fear of any transfer negotiations being conducted in the media spotlight. It will be interesting to see where Taylor ends up & when. Then perhaps we''ll be able to fill in a few blanks
11. Has anyone ever turned us down once they''ve had the tour round Colney?
12. With West Ham''s victory yesterday, they are allegedly ''back in their rightful place'', the Premiership. So many other clubs seem to have the same attitude, or the media state they are big clubs which should be in the highest division. Teams like Sheff Weds, Wolves, Forest to name a few. Norwich always seem to get the ''country cousin'' label, plucky team playing nice football. So where is our rightful place? Are we to be bracketed with the Sunderlands, WBAs & dare I say Ipswichs of this world? We had our European adventure & high league position in the early days of the Premiership, so how do we change the perception of the club, or will we ever?
13. Roy Carroll has been released by Manure http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=280797&cpid=8&CLID=&lid=2&title=United+release+Carroll&channel=Football_Home, does this get the wheels in motion for Robinson/Green moves?
14. Jose Mourinho has two players for every position in his squad, there is a reason for that. No squad member can coast through a Chelsea game, otherwise they don''t play the next one. Francis has not had that pressure, he knew when he was fit he would play. For him to remain at Carrow Road I think we need to bring in 2 or 3 quality midfielders, then we may see the ''old'' Francis again. However I am concerned that the staff at NCFC have blatantly failed in motivating him recently. Does anyone know if we have a Sports Psychologist?
15. I think Delia et al, having tasted the Premiership will be as keen as the players to get back up there. She in particular has seemingly revelled in all the connected publicity. I know there is a history of NCFC being a selling club, but give the board credit for transfer deals in recent times. There is no logic in Ashton being sold (unless for a huge sum), I know logic doesn''t often apply in football, but our chances of getting back to the ''big league'' are so much greater with Deano in the team & the rewards for doing so are well documented. The Ashton signing was a ''speculate to accumulate'' action & I''m sure, unless we have a disastrous first half to the season he will be with us this time next year & looking forward to another crack at the Premiership complete with an enhanced squad. Have faith
16. If you''re really bored try this site, www.RateTheRef.co.uk, it tells you how good Mike Riley etc really is!
17. We''ve had our share of lows this season, but no one can deny it''s been entertaining! Apart from the obvious Delia ''Lets be ''avin you'', I would nominate:- The Snake Pit''s ''Who are ya'' to Thierry Henry (& then taking photos of him with their mobiles!) ''Alex, Alex what''s the score?'' (what a sweet memory, worth the price of my season ticket for that  & all the remaining Norwich fans ''You''re not singing anymore'' as the equaliser went in against Middlesborough   I''m sure there are many others, what''s your favourite?
18.
How on earth did you come to be reading an Iranian sports newspaper??
Before I get the CIA or whoever on my back, I just put in Norwich friendlies in Google & it came up!
19. What a mixture of friendlies we have planned, Colchester United, Inter Milan & Iran? http://www.iransportspress.com/?c=126&a=1722
20. I know eveyone is moaning on about the defence, but just think back through the season as to how many goals were conceded from outside the penalty area. Surely, as the pundits say, you should ''defend as a team'' & seeing countless players from other sides closing down & throwing themselves in the way of goal bound shots, it should be a lesson we need to learn. Robert Green isn''t in the England squad because he conceded 77 goals this year, but giving top class strikers (or midfielders) time to shoot from 25-30 yards is asking for trouble By the way, this is my first post on this site, but I must say how informative and friendly (mostly) it seems.
