Parma Ham's gone mouldy 2,220 Posted November 3, 2014 Wooster might not win the league, but he might well win the profitability "cup".Awesome stuff. In terms of contributing to the charity his "pound" has gone the furthest....Parma
nutty nigel 7,537 Posted November 3, 2014 It is great stuff Parma. But the reason I use that as the third criteria when calculating the table is because as we have to get six the most important criteria is to get a winner. I''m no mathemitician or statistician but the way I see it is this. We have won 19 times in the last two seasons (80 weeks). The average win was 3.3/1. If you add in the bookies margins accumulated up to six that''s probably about right. But if our 6 selections averaged out at evs the chances of that coming in would be 63/1 and when adding the bookies margin we could only expect to win once in every 2 seasons. OK we''d win £640 but interest would wane to the point where we''d probably lose the threads entirely. Having said that I''m glad there''s such a diversity in selection methods and our selections coupled with our league table is probably the best tipping guide on the internet. So Wooster''s selections are useful because if the guy making the final selections wanted to add one bigger odds selection to boost the bet at present he''d have nearly a 50% chance of success by including Wooster''s pick. [/quote] Nutty, I could not agree more with both your point of view and the manner of words you used to describe your view. Excellent!. You would have been beyond excellent if you had just used the phrase "if the person making the final selections...." [:D]
nutty nigel 7,537 Posted November 3, 2014 You are right Yankee. Our girl PUPs are as good as our boy PUPs and far better than me[:$] My only excuse is that I''m "down with the kids" and for them the expression "you guys" is a unisex term[;)]
