Whitbread Precautions

Recommended Posts

Just a quick note, I know we''ve had the official word from Sir Paul that Zak should be ''okay'', and we''re unsure about Dani, but luckily from my seat next to the home dugout I was able to lip read Zak as he came off, he seemed to say ''If I play on, it''s gonna go''

Also, when Whitbread went down, Lambert (obviously irritated knowing he was going to lose both centre backs) threw water bottles about, booted the advertising hoardings hard and screamed ''F**k!'' and punched the padded bit of the dugout. Those lucky enough to sit around me see this passion from him a lot, but for those only who see him as the astute, media-shy Lambert from the post match interviews.....far from it.

You cold see from The Barclay that Lambert was trying to force Zak to get back on the pitch and Zak was having none of it. Good to hear that Zak was being cautious though. Give it a week and we can only hope he''ll be fine.

I also loved it when Lambert literally threw Pilkington back onto the pitch having taken a smack in the giggle berries.

Yeah, that was right in front of me! Myself and the other men around me cringed as the women remarked ''what?'' They just don''t get it, vice versa childbirth.

Poor Pilks, he was struggling to get his breath for a while after that, can''t blame him, that is the definition of taking one for the team.

It was also nice to see Ricketts go over to him afterwards and ask if they were still there, lol

perhaps PL frustration was at himself for having just one defender on the subs bench?

Possibly, he did say in the press conference that this situation had ''never happened to him before'' so he may well have been cursing his positivity in being under-prepared.

Saying that, Drury, Martin, Naughton and Bennett played out of their skins!
