hardley 0 Posted June 24, 2011 With the return to the premier league is there any possibility that Reserve team football will once again be on the agenda for this coming season.
AJ 1,219 Posted June 24, 2011 I would imagine so, yes. Which is why I can see us keeping the likes of Cody etc. here, because at least they''ll be getting some valuable football.
Harry 0 Posted June 28, 2011 According to wikipedia we are in the Reserve League South.
The 2011-12 Premier Reserve League (officially known as the 2011-12 BarclaysPremier Reserve League for sponsorship reasons) will be the thirteenth seasonsince the establishment of the Premier Reserve League. The season start date isyet to be officially determined. The events in the senior leagues during the 2010-11 season saw Blackpool and West Ham Utd. relegated and replaced by thepromoted sides Norwich City & Swansea City. While Birmingham Citywere relegated from the Premier League and Queens Park Rangers were promoted tothe Premier League, neither side decided to participate in the reserve league. The geographical split of the 16 participating teams meant it was possibleto drop the overly-complicated 2010/11 structure and revert to a simpler North& South structure. The Northern league will now consist of Blackburn Rovers,Bolton Wanderers, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic. Manchester Citychose not to participate this season. The Southern League will consist of Arsenal,Aston Villa, Chelsea, Fulham (who have chosen toparticipate this season), Norwich City, Swansea City, West BromwichAlbion & Wolverhampton WanderersEach team will play the teams in their own league home and away. They willalso play each team in the other league once (home and away games splitevenly). This will result in 22 league games (14 + 8).At the conclusion of the league season, the two league winners will play afinal in the home ground of the Northern league winner. The venue alternatesbetween North & South each year. Last year it was held at Stamford Bridge, the home of eventual champions Chelsea.Premier Reserve League North Pos Club Pld W D L F A GD Pts 1 Blackburn Rovers 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 2 Bolton Wanderers 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 3 Everton 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 4 Liverpool 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 5 Manchester United 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 6 Newcastle United 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 7 Sunderland 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 8 Wigan Athletic 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 Premier Reserve League South Pos Club Pld W D L F A GD Pts 1 Arsenal 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 2 Aston Villa 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 3 Chelsea 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 4 Fulham 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 5 Norwich City 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 6 Swansea City 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 7 West Bromwich Albion 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 8 Wolverhampton Wanderers 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 At the conclusion of the league season, the two league winners will play afinal in the home ground of the Northern league winner.
