Our late goals

Recommended Posts

Had a bit of free time and thought it would be interesting to cover our late goals and points

Scunthorpe A - injury time winner by Holt = 2 points

Swansea H - 2 goals 87 and 90 to win 2-0 = 2 points

Barnsley H - winner scored on 80 mins = 2 points

Burnley H - injury time equalizer = 1 point

Coventry A - winner on 87 mins = 2 points

Sheff U H - goals on 84 mins and stoppage time to win 4-2 = 2 points

Cardiff H - last minute equalizer = 1 point

Sheff U A - winner on 80 muns = 2 points

Milwall H - winner in stoppage time = 2 points

Reading H - winner in stoppage time = 2 points

Bristol C - 89 and stoppage time to win 3-1 = 2 points

Probably been done already but satisfying to see them listed.  So I make it 20 points from late goals ( no I haven''t bothered to list the late goals conceded and points we''ve lost).

Interestingly as far as I can see, we haven''t scored any goals in the last ten minutes where we were already winning at the 80th minute.

As you say, its interesting to see it all laid out - however I thought it might be good to see where we''ve conceded late goals as well - or where we''ve scored and its not made a difference to our points tally:

Watford (H) - scored (Nelson 90+1) and conceded (Graham 81) - net loss 0

Blackburn (A, CC) - scored 1 (Askou 90) and conceded 2 (80,84)

Doncaster (A) - Conceded (Coppinger 84) - net loss 0

Hull (H) - Conceded 2 (Koren 83, Cairney 88) - net loss 1

Millwall (A) - Conceded (Marquis 90+4) - net loss 2

Portsmouth (H) - Conceded (Halford, Pen 90+6) - net loss 0

Burnley (A) - Conceded (Rodriguez 81) - net loss 1

Doncaster (H) - Conceded (og 83) - net loss 2

Leicester (A) - Conceded (Gallagher 90+4) - net loss 0

So we''ve lost 6 points in the last 10 minutes opposed to 20 gained. Overall 28 goals in the last 10 minutes of Norwich games

Incidentally we have scored late when we''ve been winning - Martin got his 2nd goal v Gillingham in the Carling Cup (90+2) to seal a 4-1 win (albeit no league points at stake)

Ya know mentally teams if its a draw or up by 1 and Norwich start pressing in the last 10 mins they gotta be thinking ohhhhh god here we go again, we are going to be the next victims. Teams have to be thinking that. Were getting famous for our late strikes now. Its always mentioned now during games  It has to be mentally draining for the other team.

we''re not called the "injury time specialists" for nothing lol! Some people call us lucky, I call it never-say-die attitude! A lot of credit has to go to the players but we never done it under any other manager. ONE PAUL LAMBERT!!
