Buncey 1 Posted February 14, 2011 Getting promoted and doing well with an overachieving squad could equally see Lambert leaving a la Owen Coyle style.
Hardhouse44 261 Posted February 14, 2011 I guess as far as Lamberts future goes you could put it downto whether he thinks we are massively overachieving or not.If he does then the likely hood of him jumping ship from a championship Norwichto a premiership team is going to much greater next season.Question is then are we massively overachieving or not. Do those who feel that promotionthis season isn''t a must feel that we will be in a similar position to tryagain next season or will we be also ran’s. My thoughts are still that we are overachieving and that we''ve had a big sliceof lady luck. Next season will be a real test for Mr Lambert if promotion is orisn''t gained I feel.I have little doubt that he is up to any challenge but things have a tendencyto level out. His own ambitions are also a factor and money is going to play it''s part. Hehas put himself on the radar and that means people are watching. The future can turn on a sixpence. Football is a fickle game and the creamrises to the top eventually.
Lennon7 0 Posted February 14, 2011 Completely agree with this thread. I don''t think we''re gonna get a better chance than this to achieve promotion to the Premiership.
Son Ova Gunn 165 Posted February 14, 2011 Im not sure why people think us getting promotion will mean Messer Lambert is more likely to stay?If you are the owner of a team like Aston Villa, Birmingham, West Ham and your looking for a new manager, your choices being some washed up premiership mangager sacked from his last two posts but once had a good run 5yrs ago or a bright hungry manager that has taken a team from the foot of the league 2 table to the premiership on a small budget and without losing 2 games running which would you choose!Anyone who thinks Lambert doesnt want to be the best manager in the country is deluded, to do that he has to manager one of the top 4-5 clubs.. to do that he has to have some success in the premiership (not just reach it) so his next stepping stone is going to be a club like the ones mentioned. How soon he gets the oppertunity will depend on our success and promotion in my view will guarentee that.Does that mean I wouldnt like to see promotion.. of course not, its never too soon for a premiership pay day and to say it could be bad for the club is difficult to justify, damage to the club comes from mis-managing the oppertunity and finances it brings, not the oppertunity itself.
