southstand 0 Posted December 19, 2010 Just read that Ralph Coates , former Spur s forward has passed away aged 64 yearsCoates scored the winning goal in the 1973 League Cup final against Norwich at WembleyRay Graydon did the same thing 2 years later - scoring the only goal at Wembley, again leaving Norwich to travel back to East Anglia empty handedWe had to wait for the win against Sunderlandin 1985 to give us success at Wembley with Asa Hartfords winning goalBrought back Wembley memories RIP Ralph Coates - no hard feelings
TIL 1010 5,246 Posted December 19, 2010 Your thoughts are very commendable at this sad time southstand but there is a thread on Ralphs untimely death further down this page started three days ago.
Matt Morriss 69 Posted December 20, 2010 Seems more like a trip down memory lane rather than a tribute to Ralph Coates.Agree with Tilly, probably an idea if your gonna post a memorial type thread to first not be 3 days late, second check that someone hasn''t already done it and third actually eulogise the person rather than ramble on about City''s cup record.
