boards optimism speech on pinkun

Recommended Posts

I wonder?

Is the ''we can and will do it'' speech another way of saying we don''t need anyone on loan? (cos we couldn''t sort out a decent signing)

Just a question. As it happens I believe that when the injuries subside we have a cracking team emerging. I would love to see:

GK: Green                 (who thought he would be here post Jan)

LB: Charlton              (he has been sorely missed)

CB: Doc                     (gets a lot of undeserved stick IMO)

CB: Fleming/Shackell (the weak spot at present)

RB: Helveg                (where he belongs)

LW: McVeigh             (If he chooses to turn up-if not Brennan)

CM: Safri                  (would love to see him get regular match fitness)

CM: Francis              (dipped a bit but still our best midf)

RW: Johnson            (blows hot and but set to become a legend IMO)

F: Huckerby             (up front he will scare defences)

F: Ashton                 (he is looking outstanding)

Bench: Ward; Holt; Eddy; Mackenzie; Brennan

Not quite as bad as 1st Wiz it will never happen post as Stuart has now appeared.  However I would go with your team and formation except for 2 changes.

I would have the fit again charlie alongside Doc and have Drury at left back - as you point out it is centre back piece that falls short week in week out but charlie and doc have both looked good in that position yet have not been tried together.

The second change would be a certain Mr Stuart in the centre alongside Francis ahead of safri.   Agree with the wide left position in particular.

Now if we can entice Bellars/newcastle that a loan here is a good idea....
Jonson and McVeigh/Brennan are the BIG weak spots IMO.Don''t think either of them are good enough for this league.
Do you not rate Jonson bananaman?  After a cautious start I think he''s looking like a really exciting player.  It''s taken him a bit of time to get used to the Prem but now he has I''m sure we''ll see the best of him.  Agree about McVeigh and Brennan though.  I''d also add Mulryne to that list
