NottsCanary 0 Posted May 1, 2010 What are your guys views? I think this is stupid, the championship needs to hold its ground like the rest of the football league! Tell the prem to do one and forget about making it a sure thing going back up when you come down to the champ! I know its been disscussed on here before, but I just read this blog, and felt like letting off some steam, so here we go! http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/danroan/2010/04/english_football_on_verge_of_c.htmlI take it form this that we rejected this idea, it says all L1 and L2 clubs did! nutty nigel 7,902 Posted May 1, 2010 The problem with this is that the top tier is no longer part of the Football League and they could tell the Championship to do one and forget about promotion and relegation.

They''d like to make many changes now but they have been resisted so far.I reckon Leeds United''s fall from Champions League to League One is probably one of the main things that fuel the desire for continually increasing parachute payments. The top clubs are not too concerned about the likes of Reading making way for the likes of Burnley, or Portsmouth going into administration, but they know the Leeds scenario could happen again. The top clubs in Europe might have something to say. Another break away league could then be on the cards.
Harry 0 Posted May 1, 2010 IMO a break away European League would be a bad thing, we can then get rid of these foreign owned, foreign managed full of over paid foreign player clubs, revert back to Division 1,2,3 and 4 and be able to bring British managers and British players through which will benefit the national team and the game as a whole.
