OT: Our Boys in punch up but they shook hands at the end

Recommended Posts

Paras v Marines tonight at Colchester for the Falkland Cup.

Good game at the Garrison B ground.  Marines played by far the better football, some lovely stuff on the ground in the first half and went one up.  Eventually Paras 0 Marines 3.

Highlights: Absolutely superb goalkeeping by the lad between the sticks for the Paras - three great reaction saves in the first half alone - and unlucky to be beaten by the third goal which took a wicked deflection, he changed direction but didn''t quite make it.  Keeper the man of the match.

Twenty five minutes into the second half a spectacular brawl involving about 18 or 20 players after a tough challenge which resulted in the two involved attempting blows.

Hats off to Lieut.General Coulsdon (Aldershot) who, as the man in black, dispersed the crowd and booked two for fisticuffs.  None of this sending off nonsense!

Free of charge but collection for service charities.

They shook hands at the end. thup

The Marines were always going to have the advantage early doors though, it takes ages for those chutes to come down, and what if they miss the pitch ?
