October and November will be pivotal

Recommended Posts

Looking at the fixture list, we still have some nasty games to come with Villa and Liverpool away but it seems the autumn period will go a long way determining which league we''ll be playing in next season. All of them are realistically winable and if we don''t secure at least 17 or 18 points from them it''s goodnight Vienna in my view.

But i believe we can do it of course. I''m keeping the faith!

Yeah I agree but any points we can pick up between now and then will go a great way to aiding our cause not forgetting all the games after that between Nov and May.  If we can repeat our second half display yesterday in most of our games then I believe we have a great chance but like somebody posted earlier the crunch will come when we see if we can raise our game against the smaller sides and not just the bigger ones because that could prove to be costly points dropped if we dont.

I think we need to average just over a point-a-game to be reasonably hopeful of finishing above bottom three. So using that as our barometer we are on .6 ppg just below, considering who we have had to play that looks good to me. Had we beaten Crystal Palace we would be spot on.

I''ve posting for weeks that our season starts in October, and it''s the key month, so I totally agree. We''re bang on the points total I''d anticipated at this stage but I had all 3 against Palace! The performances at St James and WHLane in particular give me great hope, but it will be as much of a challenge to win games we need/expect to as getting a point when we''re not expecting to!
