Have we found our new level? It almost feels good.

What can you say, Gunn and the board have done the club proud. One of Maric or Lee would be perfect, and possibly one more defender, but in general it''s miles better than I ever hoped! When was the last time we signed 10 players by the end of July?Could it be, then, that NCFC has found it''s new level? In the Championship we continually struggled to persuade players to join us in the face of "bigger", more central or more wealthy competitors. As a result we had to cobble a team together of loans and cast offs, none of who really wanted to be here out of choice. The outcome was a endless struggle against the inevitability of relegation. But here, in League One, we are clearly a big draw. Players seem to see us a positive career move, and it''s snowballed very rapidly: 9 permanent transfers, all hungry footballers looking to better themselves (we hope.) I think we may, just, be able to be proud of OUR TEAM once again. Now, I want us to play at the highest level possible - don''t get me wrong - but until we are taken over by super-wealthy owners, there''s an argument to say this is better: being a bigger fish in a smaller pond, with players wanting to come here, to build a team here, to connect with the fans, and hopefully as a result challenge at the right end of the table.PS. Now,  know I''ve been as negative as anyone about the direction of our club, but today - well, it feels great to feel pride, and great to feel wanted.[<:o)]

I would disagree to that.

I dont think we have found a new level I just think we are gambling on the correct players to come and want to play for us. I believe if we had this squad at the start of last season we would have stayed up even minus croft and sammy.

I disagree with the OP too. The reason we are attracting these good players is because they know we have the potential to go back up to the Championship, and they want to be part of that. They also know that they will need to raise their game to be part of a promoted squad next season, so will want to perform. Glass half full? It is positively brimming!

What a load of rubbish.  We should be operating at a far higher level than League 1.  It is about 5 years of constant mismanagement that has dragged us down to where we are.  Yes its nice that we are building a squad of our own but this is somthing we should have done 3 or 4 years ago. Hopefully this is the point at which the rot stops

Nope.... Not our level at all. We''ve fallen below that for sure. However I do feel that the current management look to be managing the situation as well as possible. Let''s get the footy started and see how things look 10 games in eh?
