Stella Canary 0 Posted November 9, 2004 All our worries about winning a game pale into insignificance when such news comes through:"Former England and Liverpool captain Emlyn Hughes has died at the age of 57."Great player, great QofS captain - all round nice bloke. Normann Canary 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Hey Stella, it''s always a shame when someone dies... some legend guy of football just died down here too... oh yeah it''s me, the guy from Oz, but don''t give em my real name... I''m already in enough trouble...
BIC 0 Posted November 9, 2004 I suppose it is a bit sad to see Emlyn go, but let''s get this all into proportion. I''m sure I speak for many Norwich fans when I say that I''m much more concerned about us throwing away a lead against 10-man Blackburn on Saturday. Cold and heartless? perhaps. The truth from a Norwich fan. Definitely.
YankeeCanary 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Grow up Barclay. When a thread is posted to praise a football great that''s died, that''s one thread. When you have comments to offer on a game, there''s lot''s of other threads that take care of that. The two things do not bear comparison, so try to think a lttle more sensibly in the future. That''s not an opinion, that''s a reality of civilized life.
DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Well said YC and Stella. I have to admit that I''m a bit young to to remember Hughes so I wasn''t going to a comment to this thread, but I have enough footballing knowledge to know he was a legend. What Barclay said was stupid and out of place.
BIC 0 Posted November 9, 2004 Well, gee I''m sorry, Dad. I''ll try not to offend your enormous sense of maturity in future. I''m afraid I failed to see note all the tributes to the man in this enormous thread - By the way, if you''d care to look at the name of this forum, you''d see that it is Norwich City - matches / tactics / players / rivals / gossip. Let''s keep it to what its designed for shall we.
Kent Canary 0 Posted November 9, 2004 I will always remember him on A Question of Sport and he will always be a legend. RIP.
