SeattleCanary 0 Posted February 22, 2009 If by some miracle we stay up, and i mean miracle as in unbeaten till the endof the season with 5 wins making the run up.The summer comes and surely for all teams in the division its an even playing field. What chance do we have (provided money is found, via a treasure map or however) do we have of signing players of say Cheds satndard or the man himself, if we can produce a positive feeling round carrow road and colney and try to show ambition in building a squad with a 5 year plan for promotion.Or do people think after our last 2 seasons even if sed funds were made available (very unlikely) would a player just turn us down due to the position weve finished recently? JJ 0 Posted February 22, 2009 We stay up, everybody forgives the board, gives them their "last chance", and we start afresh. Gunn and the ''Dream Team'' are given new contracts, new signings are promised while season tickets hit 20,000. At the beginning of August after much speculation, Sammy Clingan and Lee Croft depart, and are replaced with ''promising'' new signings, free transfers, and some more loan players who have played an average of 3 games in the last 12 months. After a couple of decent early displays, we are knocked out of the League Cup, and our form tails off, leaving us in the bottom six by October. After some rallying calls of "Don''t Panic" by the management and a stormy AGM, City hit bottom place by Christmas. After cries of "Gunn Out" following a miserable FA Cup 3rd Round Exit, plus threats of a season ticket boycott, Bryan and his team are replaced by the recently fired Tony Pulis, because they need a manager with experience who is a bit nasty, and somebody who isn''t too close to the club.Pulis rallies the team to survival, the board are forgiven, season tickets hit 20,000, the following season starts brightly, tails off, Pulis sacked for somebody nicer who has local ties, etc,etc...[:''(]
Beauseant 0 Posted February 22, 2009 It will just be the same again until we either make the drop or find new owners with cash and ambition.
Houston Canary 0 Posted February 22, 2009
It will just be the same again until we either make the drop or find new owners with cash and ambition.
How can you be so negative at a time like this, when the team needs our support more than ever. If we turn the rudder a little faster, load the life rafts to capacity, pay attention to ice berg warnings, pump the water out a little faster, then the HMS Norwich City can thrive and return us to the halcyon days of mid-90''s. Delia is putting her money in the team, and even though she wants it all back (as do most season ticket holders, I imagine) and Doherty is trying really hard, and it''s just bad luck that we didn''t win most of the games we lost, and .....who am I kidding!
