Salopian 1 Posted November 12, 2008 Doncaster''s utterance confirmed what we had suspected, - there is no money. It seems that any profit we made on sales during the summer, including the million from Lewis and Shackell had already been spent on messrs Bell, Hoolahan and Clingan, or on loan fees. (Some may have a sneaking suspicion that some may have been used to reduce debt. Certainly Shackell''s exit seemed to come out of the blue, after all the trasnfer dust had settled.)The worrying things was that we were pursuing Iversen, or whoever. Were we expecting him as a gift? This seems the most worrying thing about our dreadful position, - only one permanent striker if you discount Martin. It''s going to be a long hard season aiming at 17th/18th. gazzathegreat 0 Posted November 12, 2008 Doncaster is permanently programmed to say there''s no money, wind him up at the back and he''ll always say it.....along with his other favourite, you all know it.We had no money in the years we made profits, we had no money during our year in the Premiership, or going further back when we made a mint during the play off period. We had no money when we sold big and bought small, we had no money when the hotel went up, the famous flat car park devised and all the offices refurbished. No no money left after paying off a long line of failing managers (and not finished on that yet I suspect). Even the accounts were printed on a "more asture than usual paper" to reflect the times. No money, no idea, no ambitionNo great loss when they go.

gazzathegreat 0 Posted November 12, 2008 It will spoil the view from my window (and no I don''t live in the flats!) so I will oppose it, when the time comes.......manic laughter....By the way Mello, some wag shouted out last night that a way to cut costs would be to get rid of the esteemed CE.....went down very well, that comment....he he
