"It's not about the money, there's just nothing we can do about it"

Recommended Posts

Anyone else noticed that the stock excuse used on this board when we

sell a good player is "It''s all about player power these days, if he

wants to go the Club can''t stop him, it''s not about the money, there''s just nothing we can do about it" and

the stock excuse from primarily the same people when we ''try to buy'' a

player is "He wants to come but his Club won''t let him, it''s not about the money, there''s just nothing we can

do about it"?

Well spotted..........................I was thinking exactly the same thing !!!..............................Just more lies from the Board. How much longer do we as fans have to be treated in this totally disresectful way ?

The same could also be said of the parachute payments, when we tried to sign Rob Hulse a few years ago we couldn''t compete with West Brom because they had parachute payments. Fast forward a couple of years and I can''t remember us flexing our muscles in the transfer market when we had parachute payments, I think I''m right in saying that our only signing that summer was Andy Hughes for 600k but I seem to remember plenty of departures. Seems to be one set of rules applicable to NCFC and another to everyone else to me.

Talking about money I see that Ipswich have just got Voltz from Fulham on a seasons long loan - wages £15k pm plus a large bonus if they get promoted. Must be nice to have an investor who''s willing to pay for you to get a large squad together!!

He is a decent signing for them, Evans certainly seems prepared to dip his hand in his pocket. Good job they have a clueless manager.

When looking for a job, would you go to a company in Norwich if, for example, your family have roots in Birmingham, Manchester or Sheffield ?  And if another business local to you offered you similar terms and conditions ?  A lot of the clubs we compete against are much closer to large populations.  People claim that geography doesn''t matter, but players are human too.

We are told that there is Iversen wants to come here, and his employers aren''t allowing him to do so.  If he wants to play for Norwich / in England badly enough, he''ll turn up before the deadline, in the same way that McKenzie ended up at Coventry.  It could be that there are financial penalties for him doing so, and that might well deter him.  I''m guessing he doesn''t have a release clause, which is a shame.  If I were Iversen, I''d get myself a new agent...
