LinkNR9 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Is it just me, or do other posters think that our players have developed a reluctance to shoot from outside the penalty area this season? Last season, the likes of Damo, Gaz Holt, WLYPaul and Hucks would have had a go at goal if defenders didn''t close them down quickly; however, this season I''ve noticed that we''re trying to play the "killer" pass when we''re in possession around the box, instead of having a crack at goal. (The only exception to that is David Bentley and we''ve seen what happens when he lets fly!). As Worthy says, "if you don''t buy a ticket, you don''t win a prize"! Gentleman Jim 0 Posted August 30, 2004 agreed !Noticed Leon froze like rabbit in headlights a couple of times when we were having our magic 20 mins against Arsenal. But he will learn from the experience. I have every confidence about him becoming a regular scorer for us in the Prem.
The Doc 0 Posted August 30, 2004 I was screaming "shooooooooooot!" so often in the second half it was unbelievable! One particular point when Hux took it past two arse players then opted to pass to Leon who then opted to cross had me on my feet and shouting in a pub full of arse fans! AJ 1,359 Posted August 30, 2004 you got it Gorleston Jim, I thought exactly the same.He easily could''ve had a left footed blast between ''lemon'' and the post. May even have scored to make its 3-2.
