20 million would change everything, but Roeder's job is hard enough without budget confusion to contend with

Recommended Posts

After looking through the the comment and suggestion from fans and the views of reporters it seems that the Cullum deal has just added a lot of confusion.  What we know is he has offered 20 million for new players, but we have no real idea of his offer for the club other than he wants it on the cheap and the board are not prepared to talk about his offer.

Now Cullum has stated by his own admission that these sort of deals take a long time.  Now by these sort of deals I mean takeover deals.  He has also stated that he will always pay top dollar for good businesses and generally likes the orginal owner to stay and have investment.  This obviously goes along with Delia staying as an icon.

The reality is at this time the idea is a pipe dream.  The deal is highly unlikely to be concluded before August 31st and it is making life difficult for Roeder.  Surely it would be better for everyone to put talks on hold and let Roeder bring in the players under the orginal budget and at least make sure we have a competive squad for the new season.  Now come September 1st takeover talks can continue, but quietly and not through the media.  Hopefully a deal can be reached before Janurary and Roeder can have some money to spend to give us that extra bit of quality.

At the moment Roeder doesn''t know who to buy because the budget is so unclear and if we could at least clarify things in the short term it would be a lot easier.  Also I feel that keeping Delia at the club after she has sold her shares will not work and I am concerned that this deal will remove the Turners who have vital business experience that we need.  It would be shame for Delia to leave, but if it''s a choice between her and the Turners it has to be the Turners.

How do you put talks on hold when none are taking place?
