News from the North East

Recommended Posts

Not another Ameobe post hear you cry! Well, sort of but clears up a few rumours anyway. Right, Ive been on a course up in South Sheilds for the past two weeks, only talking to a taxi driver how we were rumoured to be after Ameobe when the news of the so called Ipswich bid came over the radio, much to the amusement of the taxi driver!

He is indeed on his honeymoon, until Sunday. He has not been at the club, Dunstan hall, Colney or Asda. Fact. This comes from the drivers who run academy boys from schools to training ground, as well as first teamers etc.

Infact, they find the whole situation rather amuseing, and estimations of 3.5m valuation, well lets just say if they could get 2.5 they''d bite y'' hand off. However, they did say that as widely reported, he does want away, and that his best football was played under Roeder, who is still held in high regard in the North East. When i told the guys how many people, both players and backroom, all of them said that is what he wanted, and what was needed at Newcastle, but wasn''t allowed.

Summery, and general consensus of opinion of Ameobe, Showed great promise as a youngster, but got carried away with his own success, which still is the main problem with far too many players at Newcastle as a club at the moment. Away from Newcastle, could shine as they boys got tallent, and hopefully Roeder can bring the best of it out of him again.

So make of it what you will, peronally, i still hope we get him.

For god sake read it again, its discounting rumours, not starting them. These are just opinions of supporters like you and me, however, i thought the confirmation that he was on honeymoon shot down a few of yesterdays rumours in flames. Also thought that the view of Roeders clear out was interesting enough to share, i bow to you greater knowledge.

Ok, maybe wrong choice of words, but at the time that reports in the national press and sites like these were proclaiming a he''d already signed, or about to. The Metro, which is a free daily local was already running a story on Ameobe, and his wedding.  It was common knowledge up there that he was on honeymoon. Don''t know why i''m even trying to explain this to be honest.

I know more about the Ameobi situation than some dumb geordie taxi driver, and I dont know much.

How could it be common knowledge? Did everyone in Newcastle wave him off at the airport? How the hell would he, or anyone in Newcastle for that matter, know the details of Ameobis vacation plans?

They threw a parade for Ameobi and his missus before he left. I know that because I heard it from a mate''s sister''s dog walker''s baker who''s mother in law''s friend works at McDonalads three miles away from the airport [;)]
