Lincs CR 0 Posted June 26, 2008 Just read the article on the main page and read up on Cureton training over summer at Colney and getting in early. I think he has always shown such belief in himself and given his all for us and think we can safely say Norwich is the team he truly has his heart with.Last season he got a lot of stick for not providing enough goals, however the goals he did score seemed to drag us out of holes, e.g the Ipswich game at Carrow Road.I''m just wondering if his commitment and willingness to get fitter and ready for the new season will pay off for him or not?Thoughts on whether he should be in our team next year, be primarily used as a sub or do you think he may be facing the exit if we bring in new strikers? However, I still believe there are goals in him and I think he firmly believes this too (hence the increased training effort). True - Last season he missed several sitters, but lets face facts, he was feeding of scraps for most of the season and IMO did well to muster as many goals as he did. It looks like midfield is the area of the pitch which Roeder wants to PUT RIGHT first. If we can bring in the pace (Hoolahan = Huckerby with more pace), creativity (Clingan, Bell, Sibierski, Gow?) and winning mentality required next season, I think Cuerton will do a job. However, like I said, he isnt getting any younger and I think we need to focus on pace and strength, Cureton has little of either. Yep, I think he would be good for the last half hour or so, but that is all.
king canary 8,763 Posted June 26, 2008 You mention his goal against Ipswich but in that game he missed to much easier chances. He is a striker who always shows for the ball though and you certinaly couldnt question his commitment he just lacks finess.

TheCardinal 0 Posted June 26, 2008 No one ever doubted his commitment or the fact he bleeds yellow and green; Cureton is Norwich City through and through. However, all the commitment and desire in the world won''t make up for squandering those missed opportuinities last season.Still, this is a new season - let''s wipe the slate clean for all the players and hope that where Cureton failed last time, he will succeed in abundance. [/quote]I agree, but we can''t be selective about this... if we''re going to giveJamie a "second chance" as it were, then this should be extended to therest of the team as well as the new incoming players. You can betthat if a player of Jamie''s age and ability and goalscoring record wereon their way to Carrow Road from another club under another name, thensome on here would slate him as being "past it" or a "donkey".....
