Exiled Canary 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Was it just me or did Green not seem too happy after the game today and didn''t join in with the group celebration when the players + staff came back out at the end? I thought he might be upset about the goal conceded ''cos he did kinda fumble it and he might think that''s his England chances blown for the summer...Any thoughts?? LinkNR9 0 Posted May 9, 2004 I''ve seen on another message board that he''s a target for Chelsea, with Cuddicini coming here. Anyone heard anything about this?
morty 0 Posted May 9, 2004 It would have to be cuddicini plus at least 5 million!!!
ZLF 335 Posted May 10, 2004 I think Greenos contract is up next summer in which case he could leave for nothing on a bosman, so him going for a fee or player swap could be possible. He does has an extra year option available but I would like to see city get him to sign a new longer contract with a get out/sell on clause to ensure we dont miss out. City did a similar thing with Dave Watson just before he joined Everton - the city contract signing in the end turned out to just add a bit more to the transfer fee - in this case it could give us one. Lets face it unless we stay in the premier for Greenos full career - and that is possible - he will move eventually to a bigger club providing European football - his potential will demand that. Not. What next, swap McVeigh for v. Nistelrooy? Oh please.I do think that Green will be playing in the Prem from now on. So for as long as we stay there he will stay with us. Dr. Jonathan Zizmor 0 Posted May 10, 2004 Hey Amarillo, are you dissing Greeno? Why is it unreasonable to suggest that Chelsea might want to swap Cudicini for him? Green is about ten years younger and is an England international.
