DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted May 27, 2004 Is it just me or are they doing the play-offs backwards this year? I always thought they started with the Div 3 play-off on the Saturday and work up to the Div 1 play-off on bank holiday Monday. This year it''s the other way round, with the Div 1 play-off on Saturday and the Div 3 play-off on Monday. Anyone know why they have changed it?
Peter 0 Posted May 27, 2004 Euro 2004 is the reason for Div 1 first, however not many players involved are likely to be there.
Bryan Gunn 0 Posted May 27, 2004 I think its to do with the pitch quality. Nornally by the time the third game in the weekend i.e the Div 1 game is played the pitch is looking a bit worse for wear. especially with fa cup the week before etc. As the Div 1 game is considered the most prestigious I think they are trying to ensure they get the best pitch. Pete Raven 276 Posted May 27, 2004 International friendlies - gives those in Division One that are in the lesser-known international sides a few extra days off.
