rich2408 0 Posted February 16, 2008 In 20 years of watching the canaries, I have got to say that is one of my top 3 worst performances! We were outpassed by the foxes and just "hoofed and hoped", never passing the ball on the ground. They forgot they had feet! Why does Roeder decide to play a big man upfront, therefore encouraging the long ball? what happened to the passing game? I can''t recall a shot on target in the first 45 mins, come to think of it maybe 90 mins. Did their keeper have to make a save all game? We don''t have a creative midfield or a winger with pace. If the long ball doesnt work for the top premiership teams, why would it work for us?
Delias Tasty Nibblets 0 Posted February 16, 2008 I suggest you look back earlier in the season at the results when we didnt play a big man, Dion has been crucial to our revival.

[/quote] ive been saying that for months on here. theres no place for a target man in the modern game.. a Big Striker to get his head onto crosses yes (EG a peter Crouch) but the role of Target man is long dead.. look at Manchester united... how tall are their front men? jas :)

Additional to which, were you saying there is no place for a target man to get his head on crosses, when Dion headed in Rusty''s cross on Tuesday night? Also, I was at Leicester, and if you had seen the pitch, you would have realised passing wasn''t an option. We tried but the ball bobbled everywhere, it really is the worst pitch i have seen at this level for a long time.
