Carlos Valderrama 0 Posted January 4, 2008 This is merely heresay and speculation but the rumour has it that Marcus Evans wants to build a hotel and conferencing centre on the old Ipswich cattle market site. Planning permission for such a venture is allegedly held by Ipswich Town Football club who unfortunately could never find the resources. Wonder if the boys in blue will finance this development.......The plot thickens. Although I have read elsewhere (Skysports?) that they have had a 7 figure bid for David Norris turned down. VOR 0 Posted January 9, 2008 Seeing as some of you at Norwich are so interested in events down the A140 I''d thought i''d show an article from the Guardian which gives an unbiased and essentially pretty accurate of the details regarding the takeover.:From todays Guardian Blog:http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/01/09/from_bust_to_boom_a_12m_gamble.htmlhute payments." 7rew 0 Posted January 9, 2008 I have read that article - It has intresting points on what Evans is taking out of the club now:Evans is taking £2.804m in intrest each year for the investment of under 20million (12m + 20% of 32m = 18.4m )- ie atleast (based on 20m) 14% which in itself is a pretty good rate!In the actual paper there is a inset in which sheepshanks blames his clubs plight on the FA not stopping the establishment of the premier league. Among the founders of this league were? Thats right Ipswich.
Jack Flash 13 Posted January 9, 2008 If the Guardian Article is accurate then it confirms Int of approximately £2.5Million is payabale annually and adding that to the already £2.5Million annual losses, thats £5Million to find - does that come out of the £12Million? or will the Debt increase even further? Perhaps we are not so badly off after all with the Turners and the Smiths.
