Good Old Days....yeah right!

Spotted this clip on youtube when I was looking at the Norwich v. Liverpool clip featuring a great goal by Colin Suggett following a great flick on from the legend Paddon.

This might explain to some of our younger viewers why everyone hates Man U, as this sort of activity used to follow them wherever they went.

Is it any wonder that we had such tragedies as Heysell and Hillsborough?

Makes you wonder what sort of society we lived in back in the 70s and 80s in those ''good old days''. However, every club used to have its youth mob, even us....just that Man Utd had a bigger one than most...and they didn''t, in common with today, didn''t all come from Manchester.

didnt they smash the roof to the barclay back then?

Should of nipped to the TA office and enlisted a sniper to sit on the floodlight pylons and "solve" the problem!

Yes they did Jas, it was very scary and the ground was a complete mess. Those days must never come back, the football was good then, but a price to pay was the large hooligan element everywhere you went.

[/quote]yeah - one of the man u fans got on the roof, and then feel through it didn''t he.  having said that, some man u yobs were waiting outside the barclay at the end of this fixture 3 years ago - some fisticuffs before some police came and sat on 2-3 of them.  nutters or what??? some people will do anything for a perverse thrill.

Yes Jas and the perverse thing was that (sadly) the funniest thing I saw all day (and from this you can tell how awful the day was) was the Man Utd fan who fell through the roof of the Barclay being kicked off the stretcher he was on by Norwich fans who had had enough of seeing their ground ripped apart.
