HOORAH!

At least we won''t be bombarded by the tabloids piccy''s of the WAGS on tour in the Euro Championships.

"Rooney''s missus, has Pukka Pie an'' chips - and (shock horror) spills gravy on Jimmy Choo shoes in exclusive Austrian take-away!"....

"Gerrard''s floozy dances in designer shell-suit on park bench - whilst scoffing schnitzel and mayo (with pomfrets)"....etc.

Y''know, I am upset in some ways that we won''t be there......but in other ways, it is probably a good thing that we have fallen at the last fence. A bloody good clear-out at all levels, including the Floundering FA porky suits.....

Oh well, at least we can now fully concentrate on the further adventures of Carrownation Street........

I''m with you Mello. In my view this is the best thing that could have happened if we are to try and re-build for the next World Cup. There are more than a few too many prima donnas that convey a sense of entitlement around the England scene. With respect to Steve McClaren, he has never given me a sense of confidence. I understand he had injuries to cope with but he didn''t appear to start out with a line-up formation that was given a message to go out there and attack. In a soccer country such as England playing in front of their own crowd ( a crowd more than five times larger than the average attendance of the other 21 games played this evening ) against a country that, while they are a good footballing side, have to draw on a population of less than 5 million, there are no excuses for coming out slowly or on the back foot. The other thing I did not understand is why it was common knowledge what the England formation was going to be prior to the game.

But sad to say Mello, we are unlikely to get the bloody good clear out at all levels that we need. Even the Andrew(s) salts looks flat

And we shall no doubt continue living our every day story of country folk.

Our cook knows her Norfolk dumplings down to a T.

Some random (very) thoughts.

I''m not so sure this issue is critical Yankee - pluses and minuses really.

In my view British players are mainly comfortable with 442 - perhaps morphing into 433 occasionally.

Asking them to play 451-  or to bring on a midfielder/defender after 70 minutes! - is always courting disaster, although it may work sometimes against opposition that is less than the best.

When I saw Lampard and Gerrard back on the team sheet together, I knew we were in trouble. Back to failure.

And I''ve seen Carson make a similar blunder for the England U21s.

Yankee what about Mello''s other point, about needing a clearout at the FA?

Fat Prophet, while I was not specific, that was what I meant when I said ""I''m with you Mello."

I hope I''m not catching your paranoia germs but I do detect a little "mousetrap" in your question as to why I would not believe the same thing would hold true for NCFC. Just my imagination I''m sure.

No Yankee, you were not specific as you say.  I was asking a straight question and hoping for a straight answer.  I should have known better.

Your views about the NCFC board are well known and so are mine.  We exhausted that line of discussion long ago.

So Yankee, what about Mello''s other point, about needing a clearout at the FA?  What do you think?
