Were crying out for a decent target man and its a real shame ameobi couldnt come because in this division he would have been a fanatastic divsion, people point to the defence being poor, but at the end of the day if you havent got anything down the other end to relieve the pressure its always going to be hard

For the moment i think the defence is fine bar a spar left back, the wings are ok and not the main priority, so that leaves a decent ball-playing midfielder alongside russell and a tall target man who can crucially hold up the ball.

Hartson when he came on against ipswich showed how this helps curetons game and cureton simply cant play alongside a fellow small striker or by himself, but again are we going to be able to attract anyone?

We had the chance to get Steve Howard 18 months ago but we wouldn''t pay the going rate. We have since spent more money on a succession of alternatives who are not good enough.

If you want to move forward you need good players at the club!
