Trust me the next manager will be....

Recommended Posts

one from Pulis, Duffy and Parkinson.  Hardly, names that instill any degree of hope for the future are they ?  I have never doubted this boards inability to get this crucial appointment right and am confident they will fxxk it up again and continue to until we go down.

BOARD OUT NOW !!

I never did think Duffy would get the job,  Pulis ruled himself out yesterday so that only leaves Parkinson and I''m not convinced he''ll get it either. I haven''t got a clue who it''s likely to be but I would like to see either Jewell,Bruce, Tilson or Grayson in that order, at least we shouldn''t have much longer to wait before all is revealed, let''s just hope it''s worth waiting for.

If you dont mind I will not trust you on this one - its total tosh.  Duffy is never in a million years going to get the job - even our board would not now open themselves up to that possibility.  Pullis has rules himself out and Parkinson is inexperienced, just like Grant was.

Lets wait and see what happens after Bruce has his talks this weekend shall we.

That would be the same Parkinson who promoted Colchester? Okay so he did badly at Hull but to say he is as inexperienced as Grant was is just plain wrong.

I read in the Pink-Un that Charlton''s 2nd in command is currently in pole position for the City job. Prepare for yourselves for the 3rd division or whatever they choose to call it these days. So as I suspected, there really are no quality candidates interested in the job. Boardroom mistake after mistake after mistake.

The first mistake was not getting rid of Worthington after a pathetic season in the Premier League. Had we axed him then there was a chance that we could have attracted a quality candidate but oh, no. Deliah had to do the decent thing and let that nice Mr. Worthington have another go because he was the one who got us to the Premier League in the first place. Mistake number 2 was giving Worthington yet another go after failing in his first season back in the Championship. By waiting a couple of months all we did was limit our choice to a bunch of out of work coaches and hence we ended up with Grant. And now we find ourselves in an even worse position, 3rd season back in the Championship, parachute payments dried up, bottom of the table and nobody in their right mind interested in taking over. I''d rather have Michael Parkinson that than Phil Parkinson.

Footballers need confidence and that comes from 2 sources; results on the pitch and strong management. Unfortunately we have a completely wishy-washy board who can''t make effective strategic decisions (unless it involves deciding to serve sauce Anglaise or custard with tarte au pommes or apple pie in the restaurant). We should have had a replacement for Grant lined up before we got rid of him. Spurs sacked Jol one day and 2 days later their preferred candidate quits his job in Spain. As if that wasn''t pre-arranged. We may not have that same sort of clout as Spurs but we could have done a bit of ground work before giving Grant the flick.

Does anyone know if John Bond is still alive? He''d have to be a better choice than some of the no-hopers being discussed for the job.
