Evil Monkey 52 Posted June 20, 2007 Two Yorkshire teams in trouble, very different outcomes...Scarborough FChttp://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/6221674.stmLeeds United FChttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6718353.stmSays something about the current state of football that a club with debts of £35m can escape the winding up order, whereas one with debts of £2.5m, a mere fraction of that of Leeds, ends up going out of business... canaryjock 0 Posted June 20, 2007 Spot on. Even though I have no affiliation with Scarborough I still felt a tinge of sadness today when I read they went bust. It obviously wasn''t that long ago we were almost in a similar position so we should all totally sympathise. Leeds are a disgrace and are lucky to only be in League 1. Their conniving chairman should count himself a very lucky man indeed.
Syteanric 1 Posted June 20, 2007 a sickening state of affairs! it really is! someone needs to take a good hard looka football.. i hope both Leeds and West Ham get relegated next season. what makes it worse is that Scarborough were wound up at LEEDS crown court.. i bet Ken Bates was up the window at Bell-end road laughing evily! I dont know leeds, wonder if the Scarboro Directors had to go home past elland Road.Id of stopped the car and done a dump outside the entrance. jas :)
