The Great Drinkell 51 Posted January 12, 2007 Crouchy came here as a Villa reserve (at best) and he couldn''t get a game for love or money. Played in a different team was then suddenly transformed - Different enviroments can sometimes help- Crouchy as we know then moved for large transfer fees and gain England honours. I''m not saying Brown will do all of this but give the guy a chance. - As has been mentioned in numerours posts not everybody welcomed the signing of Dublin did they?? Time to go Delia 0 Posted January 13, 2007 Crouch may have been in the reserves at Villa but i believe they paid around £5 miilion for him and in no way whatsoever can you compare him to Brown .
Barrik 0 Posted January 13, 2007 Yes, and Crouch had been scoring lots of goals for QPR and Pompey, was a proven goal scorer.
Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted January 13, 2007 I see what you''re saying and agree to a certain extent but Crouch was in a different league to Brown. He had scored a lot of goals in the Champ already and had been signed up by a premiership team. While I am prepared to give Brown every chance to influence the team, I wouldn''t expect him to have the same impact as Crouch etc as you suggest and expecting that would put undue pressure on the lad.
