Bobert 0 Posted October 29, 2006 Its Sunday night and I have just got back from a lovely drive across England. Beautiful blue sky and fatastic colours on the trees with their leaves changing from green to gold. Final stop was in Ely where a former Norwich taxi driver invited us on to his narrow boat for a cup o''tea, Spends his life chugging along the canals from Bath to Denver, from the Thames to Manchester. What a lovely way to spend ones life.Forgot all about the match and its horrors just remembered the good things. The "Plough" Motel just outside the Britania Ground. Good bed, clean bathroom for £40. The restaurant, beautifully cooked fillet steak, cruchy fresh vegies, fries, cheese and biscuits, coffee and a very fine bottle of 2001 Spanish red for another £40 the two of us and the breakfast this morning just could not be faulted for £6 each. The match. Well you could tell by the way the boys started the match that it was not going to be our day. Within 5 mins I said to the Mrs we would loose 4-0. I was wrong of course. It was a silly starting line up and small wonder the boys forgot what they were about. Croft did his best but never seemed to have anyone to pass to. The mid field and backs were not getting up the field... didn''t seem to want to. No Eagle in the starting line up but he did try when he got on to the pitch in the second half. Dion did his best too.I though well Grant does not know the boys very well. I suppose he has taken the advice of the backroom boys for his starting line up for the team with three of our best injured. Guess he wont take that advice again. John Boubepo 0 Posted October 29, 2006 I was one of Worthingtons biggest critics and I still have no doubt he had to go but no Worthington team would have lost 5 - 0 at Stoke, that much I''m sure
Bobert 0 Posted October 30, 2006 I wonder John if it matters too much , except for the bookies, by how much you loose. Its not like Aussie Football after all when you get a point for a near miss. If Norwich loose they loose and 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 whats the difference? They were just so bad it was unbelievable. For me I have a nice weekend. The stimulus was going to watch the game. I did like the Grant bit near the end when we were loosing 0 - 4 and Dublin was going to go back to help defend at a corner and Grant waved at him to stay forward with Thorn... sort of things are just too bad now lets see if we can get just one in reply. We had our fair share of high scoring thrashings under him at places like Wolves, Luton, Preston, the list goes on
