philbuzz 0 Posted October 25, 2006 Just got back from the game and i''m thoroughly fed up, I''ve lost my voice, been abused by Port Vale Fans and wasted an evening watching a bunch of players who couldn''t give a monkeys! Its been a while since I left straight after the end of the game without clapping the players I was that annoyed! Eagle looked good which was one bonus and least Gallacher can save penalties, shame players can''t score them, anyway its going to be a long time till I watch them away again!Phil
Evil Monkey 52 Posted October 25, 2006 I take it you live local to the Port Vale area, Phil?I live with a Port Vale fan, so should be interesting tomorrow, however I''m not too glum - it''s only the Carling Cup, and whilst it would have been nice to have won it, we did keep a clean sheet again... we just need to get Earnie firing on all cylinders and we''ll be howay... philbuzz 0 Posted October 25, 2006 yeah I live in nottingham, so just over 1 hr, good job i didn''t have to travel back to norwich! Poor old Earny was the only one making central runs, and frankly he was never going to get on the end of cross''s from croft with his height!! The Port Vale players wanted it more and it showed, more effort, better passing, tackling back. Hey ho!

Yet again we appear to have gone into a game with a Plan A and no Plan B.2. Grant''s criticims of the second half performance against Cardiif doesn''t appear to have sparked any improvement in performance from the players.3. In the last ten years City have consistantly struggled to beat teams like Port Vale (e.g. Rotherham, Stoke, Walsall, Bury, Brighton, Crewe). If we are not capable of beating teams like Southend, Colchester and Sheff Wed this season, then results against teams like Birmingham and Cardiff count for nothing. In all probability the Stoke game is going to be a better indicator of what the future holds, but at the moment IMO that has 2-0 to Stoke written all over it.
