kenfoggo 247 Posted January 12 The most glaring development in the squad for the Wagner reign is the evident loss of belief of the players in how the team is constructed and instructed. This has infected the stands to such an extent that most Supporters expectations have been lowered to accommodate the mediocrity on display on the pitch. Every Supporter I chat with has no belief that this regime will achieve anything other that lower half of the Championship table. Many are questioning whether they can even be bothered to turn up and watch a home match, and many (like me) will probably not renew our season tickets. We are currently 20 points away from an automatic promotion spot (unlikely) and only 13 points away from a demotion (still possible). All of this under Wagner’s watch. The whole season has been a dispiriting endeavour which few have found entertaining. The fight to escape this malaise has to start immediately, anything less that a result at Hull tonight MUST result in reorganisation.
cornish sam 954 Posted January 12 Whilst I do agree that there seems to be a spreading malaise both on the pitch and in the stands, we are still only 5 points off the playoffs, whilst getting promoted would probably end up being another disaster, at least getting in them would give a positive vibe to take into next season... Canary Wundaboy 1,359 Posted January 12 The belief has been sucked out by 2 promotions and relegations playing the best football in decades, under a head coach that promoted youth and silky football. The club told us we could success as a self-funded club, that we could compete at the same table as the money-men and do things the “Norwich way”. It all went sour, we couldn’t compete, the Farke style was thrown away and we slumped to successive dire relegations. At that point a lot of fans realised that under the current ownership, without massive investment, we were never going to be able to stay in the EPL. The club squandered the funds from Emi’s sale, made terrible managerial choices which ruined the football “product” on the pitch and the enjoyment went with it. Now we just drift, unable to discover any belief as nothing changes. The ownership are still here and effectively blocking Attanasio assuming full control, Wagner’s still here stinking up the place with awful football, our best players are sold to balance the books and instead of promoting youth we bring in “experience”, which ends up making us worse. Belief won’t be restored under this regime. Wholesale change is needed.
