Northern Canary 0 Posted February 27, 2006 What are your opinions on Jason Shackell as a player? imo he is our best defender. He didnt have the best start to this season but last season he was fantastic. He showed real passion and always lunged in for the ball. This is what we need atm, i do think Doherty is a good player but Rehman often looks dodgy and Flem is getting old. Shacks also has very good leadership qualities and is faster than all our other defenders. Therefore, why dont we play him. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

passdinho 0 Posted February 27, 2006 at the end of last season, i said that the promotion side should be built around him, Safri, Ashton and Green down the middle of the park and i''ve seen nothing to change my mind that this would have been the best course of action. Unfortunately, he has suffered with injuries and then the form of Doherty and Davenport (now Rehman).
