Google Bot 3,934 Posted October 25, 2021 Thinking of suitable replacements to Farke, and they all come with different pros and cons, so I decided to throw some numbers together to build up a picture on what we have and what other managers would bring in, and despite him not being my preferred Bruce came out on top. Now, these numbers are really dodgy i know, I spent a quick few minutes to fill it in to get conversation started. But what I'm interested in, is what columns are key to the success of a manager here and what other people would rate each manager, to see what we end up. I'm also curious as to how other people rate the pros and cons of each manager, as I've done above. In regards to the media column, I truly believe how we're perceived and discussed by critics and the football world in general affects the mindset of our players as it's clear we're failing mentally, which is why there's a column in there for that. I think the likes of Bruce, Howe etc. would immediately change the external perspective on us, which could signal a positive change of wind for us to sail with. Balls is another big factor that we need here, we're too happy to allow "self efficient" to be an excuse to not truly place expectance to compete - a new manager would need to be challenging Webber/The board if we're to see improvements. Also, how do people think i scored Farke in that list? He's sitting lower that i expected, but again i quickly threw numbers in to start a debate more than anything - I just don't have great knowledge of Wilder, Pearson, Robins or Martin and what their pros and cons are for example. sgncfc 1,330 Posted October 25, 2021 If Farke goes, I would have Bruce until the end of the season, if he'll come on that basis. I still think we have good enough players to survive. Sacrificing some of the other principles would be required. NB Farke gets an 8 for tactics?

I just view him as a broken man who's desperately trying to find some security yet he's going against his own principles - hence why the writing is on the wall. Don't know about you, but felt we just lacked 'something' in the last prem campaign and didn't really look as lost as this, tactically we had an identity but just fell short with lack of quality. So yeah, I think tactically and youth are his strong points. That said, he's awful when it comes to changing a game through substitutions and defensively setting up. Hmmm. He's low down already, seems cruel to take that 8 away! 🙂 Edited October 25, 2021 by Google Bot
Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted October 25, 2021 Farke with an 8 for tactics? Also prem experience of 3, did you miss the minus symbol in front of the 3? Of that list I'd take Lampard or Howe. Both good with youngsters, both have footballing philosophies not a million miles from Farke, and both could work well in the head coach / sporting director set up.
