Read a piece from the Arsenal perspective written in a way which implied that Mr Webber buying out the clause was a new obstacle to the Gunners hopes of signing Emi and I was trying to think out what notional transfer fee might have been agreed between Norwich and Getafe to base the percentage on. But it seems from what you say that it was a newly discovered obstacle!

Agree with you that’s a very smart move by our club. I’m sure people like Purple who actually understand these things will know if this is a generally used practice but have to say I’d never heard of it, although like many good ideas it’s obvious once someone has had it.
