Dilemma For Buendia & Aarons

Recommended Posts

With this new Super League being a possibility, one thing Buendia, Aarons etc need to consider is if they move to say Arsenal or Spurs they might forego playing for their country. They are both young and can you imagine them giving up playing with Messi etc?

Just a thought.

£50,000 a week or untold riches a week.
However I guess those teams ( in the unlikely event of this happening ) will be signing the cream of the cream from around the world and with the greatest respect to our players I don’t think we are quite in that bracket yet.

I was thinking exactly the same thing earlier. This could be a game changer, and all of a sudden clubs like ours become an even more attractive proposition. I have a sneaking feeling this may well buy us more time with the likes of Max and Emi etc - doubt they’ll be rushing to sign for your Arsenal’s etc now until they see the lay of the land, which isn’t going to be sorted overnight. The money in the game is more than adequate as it is. So apart from a few mercenaries, there’s no way the best ambitious players on the planet will all be signing up for that knowing they’ll never get to play in a World Cup etc. You only have to listen to Emi’s ambitions to realise he’s one player that won’t want to be a part of that as things stand - playing for his country has been his number 1 dream since he was a child. Can’t see him going to Arsenal, Liverpool etc this summer, but then I thought he’ll be with us next season anyway. This only reinforces that feeling now.
